The Office of Epidemiology & Data published two new reports, which can be found on the FCPH Data Hub.
The first report is the Cancer Risk Profile. Cancer is the second leading cause of death among Franklin County residents. This report describes the leading cancers among Franklin County residents and who is most at risk. For example, Hispanic/Latina female residents are more likely to be diagnosed with breast cancer in late stages.
Second, the Epidemiology and Data team shared their Vaccine Hesitancy Report is the second report. It summarizes local data from the Ohio Medicaid Assessment Survey (OMAS) about parents' hesitancy to vaccinate their children and current coverage for important vaccines. In 2023, nearly 1 in 5 Franklin County parents were worried about their child receiving the vaccine that protects the community from measles.

The Ohio Department of Veteran Services (ODVS) is asking for your help with an important statewide effort. They are conducting a 2026 Ohio Military-Connected Community Assessment.
Please consider completing this survey if you are a military-connected Ohioan and help distribute the survey to others in your network or community.
The results of this survey will help the State of Ohio to better understand the needs, barriers, and priorities of our military-connected community and to help improve programs, services, and policy decisions across the state.
Military-Connected Ohioans include the following:
- Ohio National Guard
- Active Duty
- Reserve Component
- Veterans
- ROTC
- Military spouses/dependents/family members/caregivers
Incentive: Qualified respondents will receive a $25 e-gift card. A qualified representative is considered someone who meets the representative quota targets, but those who do not qualify for the incentive are still encouraged to complete the survey.
A flyer from ODVS is part of this newsletter if you would like to share it.
Thank you in advance for helping ODVS strengthen how Ohio supports all those who serve!
