FCPH will not host the jurisdiction call in January 2026 due to the New Year holiday.
Future of Public Health Updates
FCPH want to hear from you! We want to ensure our monthly Jurisdiction Updates continue to meet your needs and serve your interests. Please complete the included survey to share your thoughts about the structure, topics and content included in these calls and let us know how we can continuously improve. Thank you in advance for your feedback.
Equity Advisory Council
The Equity Advisory Council (EAC) will not meet in December due to the holidays. It will resume to meet on the 4th Monday of the month from 12:30 - 2:00 pm starting in January 2026.
FCPH, with support and funding from the Franklin County Board of Commissioners, and in an effort to advance the EAC, released a Request for Applications (RFA) inviting EAC Members to apply for a mini-grant opportunity. FCPH received eight (8) applications. The Franklin County Board of Health approved three (3) applications during their meeting on December 9. Updates will be shared at the January EAC meeting.
Community Health Improvement Plan
On December 4, FCPH convened the Q4 Health Works Franklin County meeting with more than 40 community partners at the Mid-Ohio Food Collective. Attendees discussed strategies and collective alignment opportunities in anticipation of the next Franklin County Community Health Improvement Plan. In the next several weeks, FCPH will share a draft plan with jurisdiction partners to ensure it is reflective of all of stakeholders. Keep an eye on your inbox to review and provide any feedback before the next CHIP is finalized.
If you would like to join the Health Works Franklin County coalition or have questions about the CHIP, please visit the Health Works Franklin County website for past agendas, presentations and more information related to this work. Contact us to learn more.

Radon has been in the news lately and we anticipate there may be questions about what Radon is and what makes it dangerous. FCPH does not currently offer Radon investigation or mitigation services, however we encourage you to visit our Radon information page to access resources and testing guidance.
Health is Real Podcast
The Health is Real podcast released several new episodes highlighting our community partners. Our most recent episode featured Ben Zenitsky, from the Columbus Metropolitan Library, and Katy Hite, from the State of Ohio Library, discussing how libraries support public health and what they are doing to support the public this year.
