National Farm to School Month & Great Apple Crunch
October is National Farm to School Month! This year's theme, Growing for the Future, emphasizes the role of farm to school and early care in creating thriving communities now and in the future. To honor National Farm to School Month, FCPH will be participating in the Great Apple Crunch. The Great Apple Crunch is an annual celebration of fresh, local apples to promote healthy eating and farm to school efforts across Ohio. To participate, get a group of people together, register your team on the Ohio Extension Apple Crunch registration page and visit the Ohio Apples orchard directory to locate a nearby orchard at which to purchase your apples. Ohio Farm to School's goal is to crunch more apples than our neighboring Midwest states, including Michigan. Most importantly, remember to support your local farmers when you can!

ACEs and PACEs Coalition Invitation
Franklin County Public Health is proud to invite your office to join a new coalition to comprehensively address ACEs in our community. With a vision of becoming an ACEs Resilient Community, this voluntary group will guide our work regarding ACEs as part of the 2026-2029 Community Health Improvement Plan for Franklin County Public Health. From addiction to maternal health, educational attainment to chronic disease, ACEs contribute to poorer health outcomes across the continuum. This new coalition will seek to engage the collective impact work addressing those areas (and more) so we can better “connect the dots” in the context of ACEs and PACEs.
- Date: Thursday, October 23
- Time: 10:00 am- 12:00 pm
- Location: Franklin County Public Health (280 East Broad Street, Memorial Hall)
- RSVP: debra.smith@franklincountyohio.gov
We hope you will join us for this important work! Please kindly share with your networks and stakeholders.
