Immunization Update
Alexandria (Alex) Jones, Assistant Health Commissioner
- Summer is a great time to be vaccinated against COVID!
- All those 6 months and older recommend 1 dose of the vaccine.
- Those 65+ recommend an additional dose of the updated vaccine at least 4 months from lost dose.
- Those under 65, but with chronic medical conditions please discuss with your health care provider whether you should receive an additional dose.
- CDC’s Bridge Access Program provides free COVID-19 vaccines to adults without health insurance and adults whose insurance does not cover all COVID-19 vaccine costs. This program will end in August 2024. At this time we’re not sure if COVID vaccine will be available through the 317 uninsured adult vaccination program.
- FCPH purchased a mobile unit that will be in our community this summer providing public health education and services. Please be on the lookout for our unit to begin rolling out in August 2024
