Marching Wildcats Make It 29 Straight!
Band Qualifies for OMEA State Marching Band Finals for 29th Consecutive Year
This past Saturday, the Deer Park Marching Wildcats performed at the Loveland Band Invitational, earning a Superior Rating qualifying them for the Ohio Music Education Association State Marching Band Finals for a 29th consecutive year!
With an October 1 qualification, this is one of the earliest qualifications for the band in Deer Park history! The band finished the afternoon in 2nd place in Class B, while the Color Guard finished as the 1st place squad in Class B. An overall Superior Rating triggers the state qualification.
The band still has a handful of performances left on the year, with plenty of time to polish up the performance prior to the OMEA State Finals. Next up is the Kettering Fairmont Band Invitational on Saturday, October 15, before the Shawnee Band Invitational and Turpin Band Invitational, "2-in-1" day on Saturday, October 22.
The Marching Wildcats will perform in the OMEA State Finals at Piqua High School on October 30 (time TBD). Tickets can be purchased at the gate.
Congratulations to the Deer Park Band, director Patrick Bauer, all of the directors, and the many, many band volunteers on this tremendous accomplishment!
