Student Spotlight: Jayden Moore
Deer Park Ninth Grader Wins PKC Ohio Youth State Championship
Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School ninth grader Jayden Moore competes in a different kind of sport than the typical Wildcat student-athlete.
Earlier this year, Moore competed in, and won, the Professional Kennel Club Ohio State Youth Championship for raccoon hunting, shown handling the pup pictured below.
This feat qualified Moore for the PKC Youth World Championships, which took place in Salem, Illinois in early October, where he met fellow hunters from all over the world.
The Professional Kennel Club is the nation's largest organization devoted to the sport of competitive raccoon hunting. Moore qualified for the World Championships following his state victory in July in Crestline, Ohio.
Jayden was featured in the PKC Magazine following his win. He also competes in United Kennel Club Hunts, and has more hunts coming this spring.
His goal is to begin his own training facility and spread awareness for the sport! Jayden is just the latest example of Deer Park students excelling outside of the classroom!
