A Message from the Superintendent
Current Learning Models to Continue until January 4
Dear Deer Park Families:
I want to make everyone aware that we are going to extend our current model of instruction into the Holiday Break. Deer Park Jr./Sr. High School will continue remote learning and Amity Elementary will continue their hybrid model through Thursday, December 17.
Friday, December 18 will remain a teacher records day with no school for students. For Amity students, this means Monday, December 14 and Tuesday, December 15 will operate as A days. Wednesday, December 16 and Thursday, December 17 will be B days.
From a data perspective, COVID is beginning to have a significant impact on our staffing. At the Jr/Sr High School, we had 4 staff members out today due to COVID related issues and at Amity Elementary we had 6 staff members out due to COVID related issues.

Again, I want to thank all of our families for your flexibility and continued understanding as we try to make decisions that are in the best interest of our students and staff.
