Mr. Huster's first grade students can choose to earn a coin from his treasure box to purchase a "Fancy Lunch." The lunch includes fancy plates, glasses, music and even candles.
Veterans Day Ceremony
As is tradition each year, Amity Elementary 2nd graders hosted the annual event to honor local veterans on Monday.
The Veteran’s Day program began as a small event inside of a classroom, but has since evolved into one of the marquee events on the Deer Park calendar.
More than 25 veterans attended the event, which featured songs and readings from the 2nd grade class, as well as a ceremonial folding of the flag.
Lifetouch Pictures
Greetings!
We’ve had some issues with school pictures this year. I've received several calls from parents indicating that they paid for a picture package, but received proofs instead.
I'm keeping track of the student name, parent name, phone number, as well as the particular issue, and will be contacting LifeTouch to resolve each. Please feel free to reach out to me at 513.936.7024 or by e-mail at jung.b@dpccsd.org
Thanks!

Late Start/Snow Day Procedures
With the weather getting colder and colder each week, we wanted to take a moment to inform parents that the Deer Park website includes a full list of procedures for our snow day/weather delay decisions. You can read the full details by clicking the link below. The following is information concerning how the delayed opening will be implemented:
- Once the decision has been made to close schools or delay the opening, the Superintendent will activate our Call-Command Communication System, update via Facebook and Twitter (@DeerParkSchools and @DeerParkSuper), our district website, send out an email, and contact local television stations. It is strongly suggested that parents subscribe to the text/email notification systems now offered by the major Cincinnati news stations in order to receive school closing information as soon as it is entered into the system.
- All parents will receive an automated phone call indicating that school has either been cancelled or will open using a delayed start.
- Under a delayed start, all schools will open for operations exactly two hours later than their normal schedule. Students that walk to school, drive, or receive rides to school should plan on arriving two hours later unless directed otherwise for special programs.
- Under a delayed start, all schools will offer its regularly planned lunch.
- Under a delayed start, all schools will dismiss at the usual time.
- Under a delayed start, there will be no morning programs, including breakfast.

If you would like to donate materials to our projects, please sign up using the Sign-Up Genius link below. Items need to be sent in by Friday, November 15th.
