High School

Settling In!

School is now having that feeling of being fully in swing, and I hope that your students are starting to settle into the routines and structures of this school year.  As we know, now is when it's important to establish those routines and structures both inside and outside of school that will contribute to a successful school year!

-Shane Hartley, Deer Park Jr/Sr High School Principal

2018-2019 State Test Results

We will be sending home with your student next week their personal results from last year's end of course state tests.  7th and 8th grade tests are often called "AIR" tests (after the company that creates these, the American Institute of Research), and 9th-11th grade tests are often just called End of Course Exams.  All students in grades 7-10 take a math and english test, and there are a few extra social studies and science tests spread throughout the grade levels.  Your student(s) will receive their personal results through their teachers this week.  Please contact a school counselor or administrator with any questions about the results.

Homecoming 2019!

The 2019 Homecoming Dance will take place on October 5, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.  Deer Park students in grades 9-12 are able to attend, and any guest must have a guest form completed before purchasing tickets.  Tickets are $25 and must be bought before the dance.

Ticket sales will be after school on: 9/23, 9/25, 10/1, 10/2, 10/3, and 10/4 as well as during lunch on: 9/25, 10/2, and 10/3.

Students must complete Final Forms and be up to date on their school fees before purchasing a ticket.  See below for more information about fees.  We're looking forward to a great Homecoming this year, and more information will come in future Wildcat Weekly's!

Fees

Please be proactive by paying your student's school fees as soon as you can. Unfortunately, we are no longer creating payment plans for students wishing to purchase homecoming tickets.  In order to purchase tickets for homecoming, the following fee balances apply:

  • Any student in grades 9-11 must have a balance of $500 or less
  • Any student in grade 12 must have a balance of $300 or less

Here is a link to our EZ Pay site for fee payment.  You may also pay through our board office or front office at the Jr/Sr High School.  Thank you for working with us on this!

School Vaccination Requirements

The Ohio Department of Health has issued school vaccination requirements for the 2019-2020 school year:

  • All incoming 7th graders are required to receive one dose of the Tdap vaccine and one dose of the Meningitis vaccine (MC4) prior to entry.
  • All students entering 12th grade are required to receive two doses of the Meningitis vaccine (MCV4), unless the first dose is administered on or after the student’s 16th birthday, then the second dose will not be required.

A copy of the student’s vaccination record must be submitted to the school in order to complete the requirement(s). Please submit all records to the school clinic no later than September 3rd. Students that have not met the requirement(s) will not be able to attend school beginning on September 4th until proof of vaccinations is received.

You may obtain the vaccination(s) at any Hamilton Co. Public Health Dept. Clinics (513-984-7882), Walgreens Take Care Clinic, Norwood Health Dept. (513-458-4600), Kroger Little Clinic, or your family doctor.
