The Deer Park Marching Wildcats took their show “on the road” this past weekend for the opening performance of competition season. Performing this year’s show, “Route 66-The Great American Road Trip,” the Marching Wildcats were awarded 1st Place in Class B, while receiving the top score in both Class C and B.

The Marching Wildcats have been wowing hometown fans at football games all season long, however they were well received by the crowd and judges in Tipp City, as well. Overall, the band finished in 6th place out of 14 bands while receiving a rating of Excellent from the judges.

Congratulations to all students, staff and parent volunteers for the great start!

You can catch the band back in action this weekend at the Homecoming Parade, as well as during halftime of the Deer Park football game.

The next competition for the Marching Wildcats will take place on Sept. 29 at Loveland High School.

AP Language Communities Pop-Up Museum

ap

Over the summer, each of the AP Language students read a book about a specific social community and as their culminating project for their summer reading, they created a museum installation about some aspect of the community or the community as a whole. Students have created a space that helps you better understand the social communities the AP Language class has studied. For more information about one or more of the communities represented here, visit your local library to check out the book it is based on.
