The Ohio Department of Education and Workforce (DEW) has received notification from the U.S. Department of Education that State Education Agencies are required to collect certification responses from Local Education Agencies to verify their compliance with U.S. civil rights laws. Below, please find links to other related documents from the U.S. Department of Education.
To meet the U.S. Department of Education’s deadline and avoid any disruption in federal financial assistance, DEW requests that traditional public school districts, including city, local, and exempted village school districts; joint vocational school districts; community schools; and educational service centers submit their signed certification responses by 11:59 p.m. on Friday, April 18. According to the U.S. Department of Education, failure to comply with this deadline may jeopardize access to federal funding.
