OTHER IMPORTANT REMINDERS & NOTIFICATIONS
E-SIGNER PRO TIPS
An important resource for e-signers is the CORE E-Signer User Manual, which is housed on the LPDC E-Signer Registration webpage. Some common scenarios addressed in this manual include:
- Removing a former e-signer from a district or ESC (see page 9).
- Enrolling as a new e-signer with a school or district (see page 8).
- Receiving confirmation that a credential has been issued (see page 11).
- Editing the effective date, teaching field or endorsement in a licensure application (see page 13).
Need to make changes to your LPDC e-signers? Please note that the OEDS administrator cannot make these changes. An active LPDC coordinator or LPDC coordinator designee must make all appropriate changes prior to leaving the district. See the LPDC E-Signer Registration webpage for step-by-step instructions.
LICENSURE RENEWALS
Educators whose licenses expire June 30, 2024, must complete all renewal coursework and submit their renewal application prior to October 1, or the renewal coursework requirement increases to nine semester hours for Advanced, Associate, and Professional licenses and six semester hours for Resident Educator licenses.
MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING FOR COACHES
Ohio law requires all athletic coaches to complete a student mental health training course approved by the Ohio Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services. Supervisors and coaches applying to renew their Pupil-Activity (Coaching) permit (or who previously held a permit and are applying for a different multi-year permit, such as a four-year or five-year) must submit a certificate of completion from an approved course list with their application. New athletic coaches have the duration of their permit to complete their training.
NEW USER PROFILE FOR CORE ACCOUNTS
Updates to the user profile creation process took place March 1, 2024. New applicants logging into their OHID accounts for the first time will be asked to create a new user profile before accessing their CORE Dashboard. Please refer applicants to the CORE User Manual housed on the Online CORE License System FAQs to review step-by-step instructions.
