Public Comment Period for Ohio’s Model Curriculum for
World Languages and Cultures is Now Open

Ohio educators, world language professionals, families, community members and other stakeholders are invited to provide feedback on revisions to the Content Elaborations and Expectations for Learning sections of the World Languages and Cultures Model Curriculum.  The public comment survey opens on Nov. 7 and will close on Nov. 30 at 11:59 p.m.

The Ohio Department of Education’s Office of Learning and Instructional Strategies is in the process of revising Ohio’s Model Curriculum for World Languages and Cultures based on public feedback and the revised 2020 learning standards. Updates to the model curriculum were made by advisory group members who have an educational background and/or professional experience in world language education. The advisory group met several times to discuss public comments and make suggestions for revisions. The advisory group then provided direction and guidance to working groups of Ohio educators, who wrote the revisions. The draft of the revised model curriculum is now available for viewing and public comment.
