Future Forward Ohio spotlights promising practices to accelerate learning
Future Forward Ohio connects school leaders with promising practices for accelerating student learning using emergency relief funds. Noble Local School District and Dayton Public Schools are sharing how they are launching strategic and innovative initiatives to address the many challenges children experienced during the past three school years. The Department invites educators to share their stories about initiatives underway to help accelerate learning in their districts.
Parents share how ACE Educational Savings Accounts enrich learning for eligible students
Educators can encourage eligible students and families to take advantage of the ACE Educational Savings Account program. The savings accounts can accelerate learning for students by giving them access to learning experiences beyond the classroom. In addition, parents are sharing how their students are benefitting from these opportunities.

Ohio’s graduation requirements are new for the Class of 2023. This year’s seniors need to earn their required credits and demonstrate competency and readiness by earning two diploma seals.
Third Grade Reading Guarantee promotion criteria set
The Third Grade Reading Guarantee is used to ensure students are on track for reading success. See the Third Grade Reading Guarantee webpage for the required score for the English language arts test and reading subscore for the alternative assessment.
New administration timeline for kindergarten reading diagnostic
The kindergarten reading diagnostic measures whether a student is on track for reading. Beginning in the 2022-2023 school year, the reading diagnostic must be administered by the 20th day of instruction of the school year for students in kindergarten.

The School Wellness Toolkit provides fast, practical resources and tools to assist schools, districts and families in responding to mental and behavioral health challenges.
Stress First Aid (SFA) is a program that helps people develop skills to recover from stressful situations.
Youth and Family Ombudsmen are available to resolve concerns from youth, young adults or other adults involved in the children services system, including concerns about placement, care or services, documentation and more.
