Ohio’s Curriculum Support Guide webinar series begins in August Instruction Partners, in partnership with the Department, is hosting a five-part webinar series that will detail how to use the Ohio Curriculum Support Guide to help educators select, implement and sustain new, high-quality instructional materials.

Third Grade Reading Guarantee Promotion Criteria for 2021-2022 To prepare for the upcoming school year, the Department reminds educators of requirements related to Third Grade Reading Guarantee promotion criteria for the 2021-2022 school year.

Free training and resources to encourage positive parenting and early childhood education The Positive Parenting Program, or Triple P, is a new program from the Ohio Governor’s Children’s Initiative, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and Ohio Children’s Trust Fund. Triple P offers resources and free courses for parents, caregivers and early childhood educators to promote the well-being of children and teens.

Attend the Ohio Family Engagement Leadership Summit The Ohio Statewide Family Engagement Center at The Ohio State University is hosting a free, virtual Ohio Family Engagement Leadership Summit Sept. 16. Teachers, leaders, parents, caregivers and community partners looking for opportunities to evolve their practice into authentic and impactful partnerships should plan to attend.

Ohio Related Services Personnel Network hosts Community of Practice meetings in person The Ohio Related Services Personnel Network Community of Practice will host meetings around Ohio in the coming months. Representatives from the Department’s Office for Exceptional Children will address Ohio’s school report cards and Special Education Profiles, multitiered systems of supports, monitoring results and other topics for related service personnel.

Summer Workshop for Ohio’s Student Leaders The Ohio Association of Student Leaders announces its 2022 Summer Workshops for students entering grades 7-12. The experience helps students learn to serve, connect and inspire their peers, families, schools, communities and the world.

The Department regularly posts rules for public comment. However, the Department has not posted any new rules since the last edition of EdConnection.
