The Ohio Department of Education's Coronavirus (COVID-19) web page provides information and resources regarding the ordered school-building closure.
During the ordered school-building closure period, schools may continue to receive reimbursement for meals served by participating in the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) or the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Schools may operate as open, restricted open or targeted outreach sites. Refer to the map and map site key for available meal service in your area.

State education officials seek feedback from Ohio parents on reopening schools Cleveland Plain Dealer The Ohio Department of Education has asked Ohio parents for feedback as they continue work on a plan for possibly re-opening K-12 schools next school year. State education officials have asked the Ohio Parent Teacher Association to come up with feedback to their draft re-opening plan. The Ohio PTA has set up a short online survey for parents, asking three things: 1. What are your main questions? 2. Will you send your child to school if they reopen in the fall? 3. Will you send your child to school if masks are mandated?
Ridgedale High Class of 2020 graduates Sunday Marion Star Fifty-seven students from Ridgedale High School will receive diplomas in a unique ceremony on Sunday afternoon. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the school district has been forced to conduct graduation for the Class of 2020 via a drive-through ceremony at the school. The ceremony is limited to seniors and immediate members of their families. Paul James of iHeartMedia Marion said the Ridgedale High School graduation ceremony will be broadcast live beginning at noon Sunday on Buckeye Country 94.3 FM.

Miamisburg schools to hire Indiana educator as new superintendent Dayton Daily News Miamisburg City Schools will hire Laura Blessing as its new superintendent at a board meeting next Thursday, district officials said today. Blessing has been superintendent of Northeastern Wayne Schools in Fountain City, Ind., north of Richmond, for the past seven years. Prior to that, she was a curriculum director, elementary school principal, middle school assistant principal, and an elementary teacher across multiple Indiana districts.
Lorain High School hires new principal Elyria Chronicle-Telegram Lorain High School will have a new principal for the coming school year. The district announced Friday Patrick Coleman will serve as the building's chief administrator, bringing more than 20 years in education and instructional leadership, including two years as assistant principal at LHS from 2016-18, according to a news release.
Humane association celebrates graduates from vet sciences program partnership Cleveland FOX-19 A group of high school seniors, who graduated from the Warren County Career Center’s Vet Science program, were celebrated with a unique ceremony at the Humane Association of Warren County on Sunday. The ceremony was set up in the parking lot at the humane association because of the coronavirus.
Springfield High School students still able to carry on tradition amidst pandemic Youngstown CBS-27 The pandemic isn’t stopping one local high school from a tradition. Students and staff at Springfield Local High School rode to school on tractors Friday. It’s something they’ve done for more than 50 years. With school canceled, they had to switch it up a bit this year. Instead of heading to class, they turned it into a parade and went to Windsor Estates Assisted Living. Residents there have to shelter in place.
