2020 LEARNING STANDARDS
On March 10, the State Board of Education unanimously adopted the 2020 revised learning standards for World Languages and Cultures. These standards will go into effect in the 2021-2022 school year, but teachers may begin to use them immediately.
The revised standards are now aligned to proficiency levels (Novice Low-Advanced Low) and include optional sample progress indicators for modern languages, classical languages, ASL and elementary/FLEX.
