Boardman teacher wins Academic All-Star Award Youngstown CBS-27 There are a lot of people who think Boardman Center Middle School teacher Joel Monaco does a great job. So much so, they nominated him to get some swag and cash from the Ohio Lottery Commission. Monaco, who teaches music, was selected as an Academic All-Star Teacher of the Month by the Ohio Lottery’s Partners in Education Program... Monaco was nominated as an outstanding teacher in January, and his name was pulled in a lottery of other teachers that were selected.
Black history comes alive at Cleveland academy Cleveland FOX-8 As Black History Month comes to a close, learning is coming to life at one Cleveland school. Wings Academy hosted a "wax" museum, where students dressed up as African American historical figures or groups and, upon command, recited speeches in front of students and parents. The event was organized by several teachers.
Roxboro Middle is a ‘Cool School’ Cleveland FOX-8 It's a school where working together in a unified and diverse environment is par for the course. This week's Cool School is Roxboro Middle School in Cleveland Heights. It prides itself on being a school for everyone. (Video)

Report identifies strategies for scaling work-based learning Education Dive A new report from the National Governor’s Association Center for Best Practices (NGA Center) aims to narrow the gap between what employers need and the type of skills employees entering the workforce possess, identifying core elements of system changes governors can use to embed work-based learning in K-12... The report recommends specific action items such as aligning work-based learning goals with governors’ education and workforce priorities.
