CES honored by ODE Coshocton Tribune Coshocton Elementary School was recently honored by the Ohio Department of Education with the 2019 High Progress School of Honor Award. The award is based on the building's reading and math assessments over the past five years with a ranking in the 90th percentile or higher for both categories. High Progress Schools of Honor also have a high number of economically disadvantaged students who are reaching high academic achievements and progress in other areas as well.
Stark County schools awarded Purple Star Canton Repository Eight more Stark County schools are being recognized by the state for their commitment to serving students and families connected to the military. North Canton City Schools’ Greentown Intermediate and Hoover High School, Osnaburg Local’s elementary, middle and high schools and Tuslaw Local’s elementary, middle and high schools each have been designated Purple Star schools by the Ohio Department of Education. The Purple Star designation, presented this month to 94 schools statewide, recognizes schools that demonstrate a major commitment to helping students and families connected to the nation’s armed forces feel welcome all year long.

Philanthropist promises free college tuition to senior class Associated Press A philanthropist announced Wednesday that he will pay for the college education of a graduating class of high school seniors in Ohio. Pete Kadens, an Ottawa Hills native who now lives in Chicago, pledged during an assembly to pay college tuition, room, board and fees for graduating seniors from Scott High School in Toledo.
Fries honors local program ahead of School Counseling Week Greenville Daily Advocate Next week is National School Counseling Week (NSCW) 2020, which highlights the multiple contributions of school counselors across the United States... The Greenville School District not only has counselors available but contracts with Darke County Recovery and Wellness, in part thanks to House Bill 166, which passed in July 2019. The passage gave Ohio schools $675 million to invest in mental health counseling and after-school programs.
Another Ohio school hits ACT jackpot with 21 students perfect on college test Cincinnati Enquirer The Comets of Mason High School are soaring to perfection on the ACT college admission test. The school district in Warren County, Ohio north of Cincinnati had 21 students score a perfect 36 this year. This is impressive, said Mason City Schools Superintendent Jonathan Cooper in a news release.
