Model Curriculum
In February 2018, the
Department released an update to the Model Curriculum to reflect the 2017 Ohio
Learning Standards for Mathematics. The February release of the Model
Curriculum contained the Expectations for Learning and the Content Elaborations
for each grade level and high school course. The Mathematics Model
Curriculum for each grade level, high school course and high school conceptual
category can be found here on
the Department's website.
The Model Curriculum
offers local educators in-depth guidance about groups or clusters of Ohio’s
Learning Standards. It also explains related skills and knowledge students are
to learn in each grade and course. The purpose of Ohio’s Model Curriculum is to
provide clarity to the standards, as well as information to assist educators in
planning and implementing their local curricula. The Model Curriculum is not a complete curriculum nor is it mandated
for use.
Instructional Support
The Grade 7 and
8 Instructional Supports for the Model Curriculum now are available. The Instructional Supports are companion
components that support the content addressed in the Content Elaborations and
Expectations for Learning of the Model Curriculum. These Instructional
Supports contain Instructional Strategies, Tools and Resources. Once published,
the Instructional Supports for the Model Curriculum will continue to be
reviewed and updated on a regular basis. Ohio educators are encouraged to
submit comments, concerns and recommendations to Anna Jedick.
The Instructional
Supports at the remaining grade levels and courses will be posted as soon as
they are completed. Anticipated release dates for each of the remaining grade
levels and courses are listed below.
