Can-Do Statements for Communication and Intercultural Competence
Click here to access PDF and Word versions of the new 2017 Communication and Intercultural Can-Do Statements, and the accompanying Reflection Tool developed by NCSSFL-ACTFL. The Can-Do statements show what proficiency looks like across the three modes of communication, as well as intercultural competence. There are student-friendly versions, as well as teacher-based versions available to download.

ODE Rubrics for Proficiency and Performance
Click here to access our updated ODE world language rubrics for Presentational and Interpersonal communication. The ODE rubrics have been updated to reflect similar language to the new 2017 language and intercultural Can-Do Statements.
Click here for all information on how your students can achieve the Ohio Seal of Biliteracy by showing proficiency in English and at least one other language. Information includes approved English and world language assessments and scores. Students within 15 months of graduation are eligible to try to obtain the Seal of Biliteracy.

Camp OFLA, sponsored by the Ohio Foreign Language Association, is an elementary foreign language summer camp for students in grades 3 - 8. High school students may apply to be counselors. Languages taught are French, German, Japanese, Russian and Spanish. Activities include language learning, ethnic cooking, dancing, singing, sports, arts and crafts, campfires, games, swimming and a final "Parent Day."
