State Assessment News
The Ohio Department
of Education (ODE) is currently accepting applications for participants to
serve on English Language Arts and Mathematics Content Advisory
Committees. Ohio’s educators and content specialists play a vital role in
the creation of valid and reliable assessments and fill this role by serving on
our Content Advisory Committees.
Every test has a
Content Advisory Committee. The purpose of these committees is to review
and evaluate test questions and related test materials to ensure that each
question is a valid and appropriate measure of the academic content standards
for that particular subject area and grade level.
We hope you will be
interested in nominating yourself or a representative of your
district/organization to serve on one of these committees. Also, please
circulate this request to other interested parties.
If you are
interested in participating on one of the ELA or Math Content Advisory
Committees or wish to nominate someone else, you may complete the
application linked here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/H7KF2C2
Applicants are asked
to describe the nominee’s experience in education, including expertise with
Ohio’s Learning Standards in ELA or Math, and to identify grade level and
content area assignment preferences. Applications must be submitted by 4:00
PM ET on Friday, July 31st. Applicants selected to participate will be
notified by Monday, August 10th. Please be sure to include an active email
address for notifications.
We hope you will
consider applying to be part of this exciting opportunity.
