Interstate 275 Resurfacing Project Update
Triple-lane closure on I-275 East this weekend
Hamilton County (Thursday, June 11, 2026) – A weekend-long triple-lane closure will be in place on Interstate 275 East as part of a resurfacing project between U.S. 42 and I-75 in northern Hamilton County.
The triple-lane closure, which will only be in the eastbound direction, will go into effect late Friday and remain in place until early Monday while crews resurface the interstate and apply pavement markings.
The contractor is using a triple-lane closure over the entire weekend in order to expedite operations and minimize the overall, total impact the project could have to motorists if nightly restrictions were used throughout the construction season.
Weekend Schedule
Friday-Monday, June 12-15:
- Single-lane closure on eastbound I-275, between the U.S. 42 interchange and the on ramp from I-75 South, beginning at 7 p.m. Friday, followed by a double-lane closure at 8:30 p.m. and a triple-lane closure at midnight.
- The triple-lane closure will remain in place until 4:30 a.m. Monday, June 15.
- All traffic restrictions will be lifted by 6 a.m. Monday.
Project Overview
The I-275 resurfacing project, which includes pavement repairs, minor bridge repairs and guardrail replacement, extends from the U.S. 42/Lebanon Road interchange to the I-75 interchange.
The John R. Jurgensen Company was awarded a contract for approximately $8.96 million to complete the project, and all work is scheduled to be completed in October.
