Glen Este Withamsville Overpass Project Reaches Major Milestone
New bridge set to be opened to traffic on Friday
Clermont County (Wednesday, June 3, 2026) – A major milestone in the Glen Este Withamsville Overpass project in Clermont County will be reached this week, as the new bridge over state Route 32 will be opened to traffic and restore an important local connection for motorists, businesses and residents.
The new overpass, which reconnects Glen Este Withamsville Road to the north and south of S.R. 32, is slated to be open to traffic this Friday, June 5, nearly two months ahead of the planned schedule.
Although the new bridge will be open, work on the new ramps from westbound S.R. 32 to Glen Este Withamsville and Eastgate Boulevard North continues, and these will remain closed during the final weeks of construction. The temporary ramp to Eastgate North, however, will remain open until the new ramp is completed.
As construction progresses toward final completion in August, intermittent lane restrictions may be in effect on S.R. 32 and Glen Este Withamsville Road for final paving, drainage and other finishing work on the ramps.
Lane restrictions will also continue tonight and tomorrow, June 3 and 4, on S.R. 32 East and West at the overpass for crews to seal the outside of the parapet walls and the bottom of the bridge deck. Double-lane closures will be in effect in either direction from 8 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. the following day.
Project Overview
As part of Segment IVA of the Eastern Corridor program, the Glen Este Withamsville Road Overpass project is the construction of a new bridge over S.R. 32, as well as the construction of modified ramps and local connector roads, to replace the at-grade intersection of Glen Este Withamsville Road with S.R. 32.
The Eastern Corridor is a comprehensive series of projects to integrate several improvements to the transportation network in Hamilton and Clermont counties and address critical congestion issues, making travel between and among the eastern communities and the region’s core easier and safer.
The Sunesis Construction Company was awarded a contract in the amount of $30 million to undertake the Glen Este Withamsville project. Construction began in January 2024, and it is on schedule to be completed later this summer.
