The U.S. 6 Charles Berry Bascule Bridge, over the Black River in the city of Lorain, will close daily from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. beginning Monday, February 23, 2026, for the next two weeks for a routine maintenance project. The daily bridge closures are estimated to be completed by Monday, March 9, 2026.

When the bridge is closed, motorists will be detoured via U.S. 6 west to Colorado Ave. south to Henderson Dr. west to Broadway Ave. north to U.S. 6, and reverse.

Additional work will continue on the bridge through May 2026 with minimal impacts to traffic.
