Union Centre Boulevard At I-75 To Remain Closed Tonight
Butler County (Tuesday, October 28, 2025) – Union Centre Boulevard at Interstate 75 remains closed this evening, October 28, following a tanker truck fire and diesel spill earlier today at the bridge over I-75, and the closure will be in effect until further notice.
Inspections conducted by the Ohio Department of Transportation - District 8's Bridge Department after the fire was extinguished found no structural damage to the bridge; however, the pavement on the deck and ramp incurred a significant amount of damage that will need to be repaired prior to reopening the bridge.
Contractors have been mobilized and will begin working to repair the pavement once all clean-up work has been completed. Currently, it is anticipated that work will begin later tonight or Wednesday morning.
A timeline for completion is not known, but until the repairs have been completed, Union Centre Boulevard will remain closed between Muhlhauser Road and Civic Centre Boulevard. Along with the overpass, the ramps to and from southbound I-75 and the off-ramp from I-75 North to westbound Union Centre Boulevard will remain closed.
The off-ramp from northbound I-75 to eastbound Union Centre, as well as the on-ramp to I-75 North, will remain open.
Motorists may detour by way of Cincinnati-Dayton and West Chester roads or by way of I-275 West and S.R. 747.
