U.S. 35 Pavement Rehabilitation Project Update
Work moving into next phase of construction as crews continue making progress
Greene County (Thursday, September 18, 2025) – Contractors continue making progress for the U.S. 35 bridge and pavement rehabilitation project in Greene County, and over the next week, motorists will see traffic changes and lane restrictions as work moves into the next phase of construction.
Beginning Friday, September 19, a single-lane closure will be in effect on westbound U.S. 35, as well as on the collector-distributor lanes at the I-675 interchange, while crews repair and replace barrier wall through the work zone. These lane restrictions will be in place through next week, with all lanes reopened on both U.S. 35 West and the C-D lanes by Friday, September 26.
Along with these impacts, ramp closures will continue to be in effect through the remainder of the week, with the ramp from westbound U.S. 35 to I-675 closed tonight from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. tomorrow, and the ramps from eastbound U.S. 35 to Research Boulevard and to/from N. Fairfield Road closed Friday, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday.
Although the ramp from I-675 North to U.S. 35 West remains closed, it is scheduled to be reopened late Friday night or early Saturday morning, which is two weeks ahead of the planned closure.
Following the barrier wall repair on U.S. 35 and the pavement work on the various interchange ramps, crews will begin paving operations on the mainline, and overnight restrictions will be in place.
The total project includes removing the concrete pavement, completing sub-grade repairs and resurfacing U.S. 35 from the Montgomery County line to the structure over Grange Hall Road, immediately east of the S.R. 835/N. Fairfield Road interchange in the city of Beavercreek. The project also includes minor bridge repairs and construction of a median inlet.
The John R. Jurgensen Company was awarded a contract in the amount of approximately $6.59 million to complete the project, and construction is ahead of the scheduled November 2026 completion.
