Culvert Preservation Project Set To Start

Preliminary work to get under way this week

Hamilton County (Tuesday, March 18, 2025) – Shoulder restrictions will be in effect at various locations this week as site preparations get under way for a culvert preservation project on three routes in Hamilton County.

Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will be paving the inverts of culverts situated on U.S. 50 over a tributary to Duck Creek, near the Red Bank Road interchange at Fairfax; on I-75 over a tributary to Mill Creek, immediately north of I-275; and on I-275 over a tributary to the Great Miami River, near the Stephens Road overpass.

Preliminary site work will begin Thursday, March 20, with vegetation clearing and grubbing, and traffic will be maintained on all routes during the initial phase of work with little to no impact to traffic at any location.

The Sunesis Construction Company was awarded a contract for approximately $2 million to undertake the project, and while construction is anticipated to begin in late spring or early summer, and all work is scheduled for completion in early fall.
