Hamilton County (Tuesday, February 25, 2025) – Interstate 471 South will be closed in Ohio during the early morning hours this Friday, February 28, for sign installation on the approach to the Daniel Carter Beard Bridge.
Beginning at midnight (12:01 a.m.) Friday, crews from Great Lakes Construction will close I-471 South to install a new sign truss and signs that were damaged during the November 1 fire that forced the approach span's closure and emergency repairs.
All access points to southbound I-471 will be closed, and these include the following:
- Ramp from I-71 South.
-
Ramps from 5th Street and Columbia Parkway.
- Ramps from U.S. 50 East and West.
- Ramp from Liberty Street, which is currently closed by the city of Cincinnati for a water line project.
The closure will be in effect until 4 a.m., and while I-471 is closed, motorists to Kentucky may detour by way of I-71 South and the Brent Spence Bridge.
