Hamilton County (Wednesday, October 2, 2024) – A project to correct a section of the pavement on Interstate 75 North in Hamilton County will get under way later this week with the first of three weekend closures of the interstate in the Ivorydale area of Cincinnati.
Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will be rehabilitating the pavement on I-75 just north of the exit to S.R. 562 East by installing a load transfer platform to support the pavement.
Beginning at 10 p.m. Friday, October 4, northbound I-75 will be closed between the ramps to and from S.R. 562 for crews to install a series of piles in the construction of the platform system.
The closure will be in effect until 3 a.m. Monday, October 7, and although the signed detour will be by way of S.R. 562 East, I-71 North and I-275 West, motorists traveling north from downtown Cincinnati may opt to follow any one of several alternative routes, including I-71 and I-74 to I-275.
The northbound lanes will be closed again the weekend of October 11-14, weather permitting, and a third weekend to close the northbound lanes has yet to be determined; however, it is anticipated that the closure will take place during the weekend of October 25-28.
Sunesis Construction Company was awarded a contract for approximately $1.9 million to complete the project, and the interim completion for the entire project is scheduled for mid-November of this year.
