Hamilton County, Ohio (Thursday, September 12, 2024) – A bridge and pavement rehabilitation project on Interstate 74 is scheduled to begin, with construction getting under way this month.
Contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will be rehabilitating the pavement on I-74, between the Beekman Street and Harrison Avenue interchanges, and along with pavement repairs, construction includes repairing bridges and concrete, sealing and painting structures, replacing guardrail and resurfacing the mainline and interchange ramps.
Construction is scheduled to begin Monday, September 23, and throughout the project, traffic on I-74 will be maintained in a minimum of one, 12-foot lane through the work zone during evening and overnight hours of operation. Overnight ramp closures may also be in effect at various times throughout the project, and these will be announced as they are scheduled.
Barrett Paving Materials, Inc. was awarded a contract for approximately $12.9 million to complete the project, and the entire project is scheduled to be completed in the mid-fall of 2025.
