LICKING COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

WEEK OF 6/3/24

Jacksontown, Ohio (Friday, May 31, 2024) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Licking County. All outlined work is weather permitting.

State Route 16

State Route 16/State Route 79 resurfacing - Resurfacing and related work on SR 16 from 21st Street to Dayton Road and SR 79 from Heath corporation line to SR 16 interchange. Includes minor bridge maintenance work on SR 16 and SR 79. Estimated completion is Summer 2025.

• New impacts:
  • Beginning Sunday, June 2, motorist can expect nightly lane closures for bridge deck patching through Newark on SR 16 & SR 79.

State Route 13

State Route 13 intersection improvement - This project includes installation of northbound left turn lane at intersection of SR 13 and Cristland Hill Road. Estimated completion is September 2024.

• New impacts:
  • Beginning Monday, June 10, SR 13 will close to traffic for approximately 28 days for installation of a northbound left turn lane. Detour: SR 13 to SR 204 to SR 37 to I-70 to SR 13 and reverse.

State Route 661

State Route 661 intersection improvement project - This project includes construction of a roundabout at the intersection of SR 661 and New Burg Street (Township Road 109). Estimated completion is October 2024.

• New impacts: Beginning Monday, June 3, New Burg Street at the intersection of SR 661 will close to traffic for construction of a roundabout. Two-way traffic will be maintained on SR 661 with a temporary signal. New Burg Street detour: Dry Creek Rd to Burg St to Broadway St.
