S.R. 63 Widening Project Update

Warren County (Thursday, May 16, 2024) – Lane restrictions will be in effect next week on state Route 63 in Warren County on the widening and intersection improvement project.

Beginning Monday, May 20, crews working for Duke Energy will impart various lane closures on S.R. 63 between the S.R. 741 intersection and the ODOT Monroe Outpost. Crews will be working from 10 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. the following day through Wednesday morning, May 22, and traffic will be maintained by flaggers throughout the night.

Contractors for the Warren County Transportation Improvement District and the Warren County Engineer's Office, in partnership with the Ohio Department of Transportation, are widening S.R. 63 from two to four lanes between Union Road at the city of Monroe to just east of the intersection with S.R. 741. Construction also includes realigning the route and improving intersections within the project area.

Milcon Concrete, Incorporated was awarded a contract for approximately $19.8 million to complete the project, and the majority of construction should be completed by December of 2025, with all work completed in the summer of 2026.

Additional information about the project is available online at Warren County Engineer's Office by navigating to the Project Information section under Featured Links. And for ongoing traffic, construction and weather-related information throughout the state, please visit www.OHGO.com.
