I-70 Rest Areas Closing for Rebuilding
Closing on November 30
East Central/Eastern Ohio - The rest areas located on I-70 in Belmont County and Muskingum County will close on November 30, so that the buildings can be demolished and replaced with new facilities.
The Belmont County rest areas are located at mile marker 210 along I-70 in both directions. The Muskingum County rest area is located on I-70 westbound near mile marker 163.
The current facilities are being replaced with a lodge-style building and will feature inside vending and Ohio tourism information.
Demolition of the current buildings are expected to take place over the winter months, and construction of the new facilities will follow.
Motorists traveling on I-70 through Ohio will find the nearest rest areas in Licking County, located on the map below. The Guernsey County rest area on I-70 eastbound will also remain open.
Once the rest areas on I-70 in both counties close on November 30, drivers will be unable to use the parking lot or the building.
