ASHLAND COUNTY
State Route 89 chip seal – State Route 89, from SR 95 to just south of Polk, will have single lane closures for a chip seal project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: November 2023
State Route 430 chip seal – State Route 430, from the Richland County line and SR 603, will have single lane closures for a chip seal project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: November 2023
State Route 511 chip seal – State Route 511, from U.S. 30 to U.S. 42, will have single lane closures for a chip seal project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: November 2023
CRAWFORD COUNTY
State Route 61 resurfacing – State Route 61, between SR 97 and the village of Crestline corporation limits, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: November 2023
State Route 96 resurfacing – State Route 96, between SR 98 and SR 602, is closed for 120 days for a full depth reclamation pavement project. One-way traffic will be maintained for locals only. The detour route for westbound motorists will be SR 96 to SR 602, south on SR 602 to CR 330 (Lincoln Hwy), west on CR 330 to U.S. 30, west on U.S. 30 to SR 98, north on SR 98 to SR 96, and reverse for eastbound motorists. Estimated completion: Tuesday, October 10, 2023
State Route 103 chip seal – State Route 103, between SR 4 and the west corporation limit of the village of New Washington; and from the east corporation limit of New Washington to the Huron County line, will have single lane closures for a chip seal project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: October 2023
State Route 602 chip seal – State Route 602, between SR 19 and CR 330 (Old Lincoln Highway), will have single lane closures for a chip seal project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: October 2023
ERIE COUNTY
State Route 4 intersection improvements – State Route 4 (Hayes Ave) in the city of Sandusky, between Perkins Ave and Columbus Ave, will have intermittent single lane closures for an intersection improvement project.
NEW IMPACTS
- There will be intermittent left turn lane closures and restricted on street parking along SR 4 during work hours only. Left turns will be permitted from the through lanes.
- There will be short duration traffic stops while crews set mast arms for the new signals.
Estimated completion: March 2024
State Route 4/State Route 99/Skadden Road roundabout - The intersection of State Route 4/State Route 99/Skadden Road, between Mason Road and Portland Road, converted the two-way stopped controlled intersection into a single lane roundabout. The roundabout opened to traffic on Wednesday, August 30, 2023. Crews continue to perform final restoration and cleanup work outside of the roadway limits. Permanent light poles also need to be installed. Estimate completion of entire project: May 2024
HURON COUNTY
State Route 61 resurfacing – State Route 61, from Olive Road to Graham Road, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: October 2023
State Route 61 resurfacing – State Route 61 (W. Main Street) in the city of Norwalk, from Sycamore Drive to Marian Drive, is reduced to one lane of traffic for full depth pavement replacement. Traffic will be maintained in a single lane, but a detour route will be in place as well. The detour route will be U.S. 20 east to SR 13 north/U.S. 250 west to SR 61, and reverse. Estimated completion: Thursday, November 30, 2023
State Route 303 resurfacing – State Route 303, between SR 60 and SR 511, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Crews will begin work on the bridges and traffic will be maintained by temporary traffic signals. Estimated completion: August 2024
State Route 601 resurfacing – State Route 601, from SR 18 to SR 113, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: October 2023
LORAIN COUNTY
State Route 2 bridge repairs – NEW IMPACTS – State Route 2 east under the Main Street bridge, between Oak Point Road and SR 58, will have nightly lane closures for bridge repairs. One 11ft lane will be maintained at all times. Estimated completion: October 2023
U.S. Route 6 urban paving – U.S. 6, through the city of Avon Lake, will have single lane closures as needed for pavement resurfacing. Traffic will be maintained. Estimated completion: October 2023
U.S. Route 20 urban paving – U.S. 20 from the western corporation limits of North Ridgeville to Greenlawn Drive, and from McKinely Street to the county line, will have lane closures for a paving project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: October 2023
U.S. Route 20 resurfacing – U.S. 20, from SR 301 to SR 10, will have single lane closures beginning the week of July 10 for resurfacing work. One lane of traffic will be closed in the eastbound and westbound direction. Estimated completion: October 2023
State Route 57 intersection improvements – State Route 57 in the village of Grafton, from Willow Park to Mechanic Street, will have single lane closures for an intersection improvement project. Project work also includes the replacement and installation of sidewalk, curb and gutter, and crosswalks on North Main Street from the entrance of Willow Park to Mechanic Street. Estimated completion: November 2023
State Route 82 resurfacing – State Route 82, between Hawke Road and the Cuyahoga County line (Marks Road), will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: October 2023
MEDINA COUNTY
State Route 18 major reconstruction – State Route 18, from just west of Alber Drive to Nettleton Road, will have single lane closures as crews widen and reconstruct the roadway.
CONTINUING IMPACTS
- Concrete crews continue driveway work throughout project limits and specifically at Victor Drive, Village Gate Drive and Foote Road.
- Crews continue retaining wall work at the culvert located between Burgundy Bay and Retreat Drive.
- Work will proceed on the underground conduit for the new traffic signals.
- SR 18, from Foote Road to River Styx Road, continues to have lane closures for pavement placement. Left turn lanes remain at Foote Road, Summa Health, Buehler Drive, and River Styx Road.
- Foote Road construction, north of SR 18, continues.
- Burgundy Bay part-width construction began and will allow continuous flow of two-way traffic. Crews continue to work on the culvert in front of Burgundy Bay.
- Village Gate Drive is separated by a median island, so two-way traffic is maintained in the east lanes as construction continues in the west lanes. Once construction in the west lanes is completed, traffic will be shifted to the newly completed west side so that the east side can be built.
- Left turns movements, between Nettleton Road and the new Frontage Roads, will be restricted with the installation of the concrete median. Traffic will be directed to use the legal U-turns at Nettleton Road and Frontage Road to reach businesses in this area.
- The traffic configuration on SR 18 will have a minimum of one lane in each direction with turn lanes at intersections.
Estimated completion: June 2024
U.S. Route 42 major rehabilitation – U.S. 42 (Pearl Road) in the city of Brunswick, from Sleepy Hollow Road to Boston Road, will have lane closures for a minor rehabilitation project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers as needed. The project includes the complete resurfacing and full depth repairs of U.S. 42, along with curb and sidewalk work. Estimated completion: October 2023
State Route 83 signalization upgrade – The SR 83 and SR 421 intersection, in the village of Lodi, will have lane closures as crews reconstruct and upgrade the existing traffic signal. Traffic will be maintained at all times. Estimated completion: June 2024
State Route 94 resurfacing – State Route 94, from Edenmore Street in Wadsworth to just north of SR 18, will have lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: October 2023
State Route 162 resurfacing – State Route 162, from SR 3 to SR 94, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained at all times. Estimated completion: September 2023

State Route 252 bridge replacement – State Route 252, between W Law Road and Abbeyville Road, is closed for 150 days for a bridge replacement project. The detour route for northbound motorists will be SR 252 to SR 57/Spieth Road, north on SR 57/Spieth Road to Medina-Elyria Road (SR 57), north on Medina-Elyria Road (SR 57) to SR 303, east on SR 303 to SR 252, and reverse for southbound motorists. Estimated completion: Thursday, November 2, 2023
State Route 301 culvert replacement – State Route 301, just north of New London Eastern Road, is closed for a culvert replacement. The detour route for northbound motorists will be SR 301 to U.S. 224, west on U.S. 224 to SR 58, north on SR 58 to SR 162, east on SR 162 to SR 301, and reverse for southbound motorists. Estimated completion: Sunday, October 15, 2023
State Route 606 chip seal – State Route 606, from SR 3 to SR 94, will have single lane closures for a chip seal project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: October 2023
RICHLAND COUNTY
U.S. Route 30 minor rehabilitation - U.S. 30, from the 5th Ave interchange ramps to just past the Ashland County Line, will have lane closures for resurfacing. One lane of traffic with a minimum lane width of 12’ will be maintained in each direction at all times. Estimated completion of entire project: October 2023
U.S. Route 30 resurfacing – U.S. 30, from the Crawford County line to just west of Old Lincoln Way/W 4th Street, will have lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained in a minimum lane width of 12’ at all times using barrels. Estimated completion: October 2023
U.S. Route 42 resurfacing – U.S. 42, between Holloway/Eckert Road and Fox Road, will have single lane closures for a resurfacing project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: November 2023
State Route 430 chip seal – State Route 430, from Reed Road to Ashland County line, will have single lane closures for a chip seal project. Traffic will be maintained by flaggers. Estimated completion: November 2023
State Route 603 bridge replacement – State Route 603, between Snake Road and Rome Greenwich Road, is closed at the structure over Shipp Creek for 90 days for a bridge replacement project. The detour route for northbound motorists is SR 603 to SR 13, north on SR 13 to U.S. 224, west on U.S. 224 to SR 61, south on SR 61 to SR 603, and reverse for southbound motorists. Estimated completion: Monday, November 6, 2023
WAYNE COUNTY
State Route 3 railroad repairs – State Route 3 in the village of Creston, between Bank Street and Stebbins Street, will close Monday, October 2 for railroad crossing repairs. The detour route for northbound motorists will be SR 3 to SR 604, east on SR 604 to SR 57, north on SR 57 U.S. 224/I-76, west on U.S. 224/I-76 to SR 3 and reverse for southbound motorists. Estimate completion: Sunday, October 8, 2023
State Route 83 Major Rehab Project – SR 83, from just south of U.S. 30 to Milltown Road, will have daily lane closures for the removal and replacement of all existing full-depth pavement, shoulder widening, ramp improvements, and the roadway curvature on SR 83 northbound, south of SR 3 interchange, will be modified to improve sight distance. Traffic will be maintained in one 11’ lane in each direction at all times and traffic will be separated by portable concrete barrier wall.
CONTINUING IMPACTS
- The U.S. 30 westbound entrance ramp to SR 3/83 north is closed for pavement repairs. The detour route is U.S. 30 west to Madison Ave (U.S. 250/SR 302) exit, transition back to U.S. 30 east and use the SR 3/83 north entrance ramp. Estimated ramp reopening: Tuesday, October 31, 2023
- The SR 3/83 north exit ramp to SR 585 is closed for repairs for 90 days. The detour route is SR 83 north to Cleveland Road, then transition from Cleveland Road to SR 83 south to SR 585. Estimated ramp reopening: Wednesday, November 1, 2023
- The SR 585 entrance ramp to SR 3/83 north is closed for repairs for 90 days. The detour route is SR 585 to SR 83 south to U.S. 250, then transition from U.S. 250 to SR 83 north. Estimated ramp reopening: Wednesday, November 1, 2023

State Route 539 culvert replacements – State Route 539, between Matty Road and Myers Road, will have three consecutive culvert replacements. The detour route for all three culvert replacements is north on SR 539 to SR 302, north on SR 302 to SR 301, north on SR 301 to SR 604, east on SR 604 to SR 539, and reverse for southbound motorists. Motorists traveling to SR 539 south from I-71 will utilize Wolgamuth Road south to SR 604 west to SR 301 south to SR 302 south to SR 539. Estimated completion: Friday, October 6, 2023
