SENECA COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

WEEK OF MAY 30, 2023

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (Thursday, May 25, 2023) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Seneca County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting.


US 23_large

U.S. 23 north of the village of Alvada, between County Road 10 and Township Road 96, is open following a culvert replacement at Wolf Creek.


US 224_large

U.S. 224 and State Route 587 roundabout will be restricted through the work zone during installation of light poles, and for seeding and mulching. Estimated completion: June.


State Route 19 at various locations reduced to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Estimated completion: late May.


State Route 101 at various locations reduced to one lane through the work zone for sealing of pavement cracks. Estimated completion: late May.


*Project update - daily closures required*

State Route 231, between Wyandot County line and Tiffin corp line, will experience daily closures in the working location for pavement repairs, weekdays, 7 a.m.-4 p.m. The project encountered a stabilization issue with the pavements in some locations which does not allow crews to maintain traffic as expected. Motorists should seek an alternate route around the daily closures. Please use caution in the area. Estimated completion: late August.


Various routes in the county will be restricted through the work zone for installation of pavement markings. Estimated completion: November 2023.


Various routes will be restricted through the work zone for herbicidal spraying.


Various routes will be restricted through the work zone for berming.
