LUCAS COUNTY: Highway Construction Update

Project ID: 93592, 93594

Interstate 75, between Buck Road and Monroe Street, Toledo/Rossford/Northwood, will be two lanes in each direction for major reconstruction. Lane restrictions and overnight ramp closures possible. Estimated completion: Fall 2023.

New Announcements/Upcoming Impacts

  • Nebraska Ave. over I-75 is now open as of Aug. 22
  • Ramp from northbound/inbound AW Trail to northbound I-75 is open as of Aug. 24.
  • I-75, between Miami St. and South Ave., may experience overnight rolling roadblocks and short-term delays for bridge work through August, 9 p.m.-6 a.m.

Continuing Work

  • South Ave., between northbound South Ave. ramps and southbound South Ave. ramps, is closed for reconstruction through Friday, September 2. Closure timeline was affected due to utility delays.
  • Southbound/outbound State Route 25/Anthony Wayne Trail will be reduced to one lane between I-75 and Collingwood Blvd. for reconstruction of AW Trail through August.
    • Outbound Anthony Wayne Trail and entrance/exit ramps to IR 75 will be paved Wednesday-Friday nights, Aug. 24-26.
    • Nightly closures of the outbound Anthony Wayne Trail will occur the remainder of this week.
    • All of outbound Anthony Wayne Trail and ramps are expected to be complete by Aug. 26.
  • Ramp from northbound/inbound Anthony Wayne Trail to northbound I-75 is open.
  • Northbound I-75 exit to Miami St. (Exit 199) is closed for reconstruction through October. Detour: Northbound I-75 to Collingwood Blvd. (Exit 201A) to southbound I-75 to Miami St. (Exit 199)
  • Miami St. on ramp to northbound I-75 is closed for reconstruction through October. Detour: Southbound I-75 to Wales Rd. to northbound I-75.

Southbound I-75 ramp to westbound I-475, Toledo, will be closed for installation of recessed wet reflective pavement markings overnight on Thursday, Aug. 25, 9 p.m.-6 a.m. Detour: Southbound I-75 to Detroit Ave. to northbound I-75 to westbound I-475.

  • During the work, nighttime lane restrictions will occur on I-75 between I-475/I-75 split to Stickney Avenue for the next two weeks, 7 p.m.-7 a.m.

Interstate 280, between SR 2 and I-75, Oregon/Toledo,  overnight lane restrictions for permanent pavement striping began Aug. 24  and will continue through the middle of next week, 9 p.m.-6 a.m.

Interstate 280, between SR 51 and SR 2, Northwood/Oregon, may experience lane restrictions for pavement repairs through August. Work is nearing completion.

Interstate 475, between Corey Rd. and Central Ave., Toledo, may experience lane restrictions for pavement repairs through August.

  • The following ramps may have overnight closures through August, 9 p.m. - 6 a.m., related to the work:
    • U.S. 23 northbound ramp to eastbound I-475.
    • U.S. 23 southbound ramp to Central Avenue.
    • Westbound/southbound I-475 ramp to Central Avenue.

Project ID: 99731

Interstate 475, between Airport Highway and U.S. Route 24, Maumee, will experience lane restrictions for I-475 widening and construction of a new interchange at U.S. Route 20A through December 2024.

  • I-475 southbound between U.S. 20A to the Maumee River will experience lane restrictions Aug. 24-25 while traffic is shifted to the right.
  • This traffic pattern will remain for approximately a year and a half.

Perrysburg-Holland Rd., between S. Holland-Sylvania Rd. and Pilliod Rd., Maumee/Holland, is closed for bridge replacement over I-475 until after Labor Day.

U.S. Route 20/Reynolds Rd., between Hill Ave. and South Ave., Toledo, will experience lane restrictions for bridge replacement prep work. Estimated completion: October.

  • Reynolds Road between Hill Ave. and South Ave. will be closed for bridge replacement beginning Monday, September 12 for approximately 15 days.

U.S. Route 20/Reynolds Rd. at Heatherdowns Blvd., Maumee/Toledo, will experience overnight lane restrictions for signal upgrade and resurfacing through August.

U.S. Route 23, between I-475 and Michigan state line, Toledo, may experience lane restrictions for pavement repairs through August. 

  • The U.S. 23 northbound ramp to State Route 184/Alexis Road may have occasional nighttime closures related to the work through August, 9 p.m.-6 a.m.

SR 184

Project ID: 101327

State Route 184/Alexis Rd., between Raintree Pkwy. and Benore Rd., Toledo, will experience lane restrictions for bridge reconstruction at Enterprise Blvd. through November. One lane of traffic will be maintained in each direction on Alexis Rd.

  • Enterprise Blvd. is closed at Alexis Rd. for the duration of the project, through November. Local detour only: Alexis Rd. to Benore Rd. to Matzinger Rd. to Enterprise Blvd.
  • A traffic shift is set to occur overnight on Thursday, Aug. 25. Motorists will be driving on the newly constructed roadway/bridge to allow for construction of the second half of the structure.

State Route 184/Alexis Road at Lewis Avenue intersection improvement project will resume in September once light poles are received.


SR 295

Project ID: 109640/Local Let

State Route 295 at Neapolis Waterville Road closed July 13 for construction of a roundabout. Detour: US 24 to SR 64 to SR 295. For more information, contact Lucas County Engineer’s Office.

Laskey Rd. at Lewis Ave., Toledo, will experience lane restrictions for intersection modifications and signal replacement through October.


Project ID: 108683

Laskey Rd. at Talmadge Rd., Toledo, work will resume in November when light poles are received.


Project ID: 113269

Various locations will experience lane and shoulder restrictions for pedestrian and sidewalk improvements.


Various routes district-wide will experience lane restrictions for routine guardrail, lighting, and pavement maintenance throughout the year.
