 UNION COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

WEEK OF AUGUST 28, 2022

DELAWARE, Ohio (Thursday, August 25, 2022) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Union County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting.

US 33_small

U.S. Route 33

NEW IMPACTS

  • U.S. 33 eastbound and westbound between U.S. 36 and U.S. 42 and between Mitchell-DeWitt Rd. and SR 161 will have various nightly lane restrictions (7 p.m. - 5 a.m.) starting Sunday, August 28 through Wednesday, August 31.  
  • The U.S. 33 eastbound ramp to U.S. 42 will close overnight (7 p.m. - 5 a.m.) on Wednesday, August 31. 
    • Detour: U.S. 33 eastbound to Avery Rd. to U.S. 33 westbound to U.S. 42
SR 161

State Route 161

NEW IMPACTS

The Post Rd./SR 161 westbound ramp to U.S. 33 eastbound will close starting 9 a.m., Monday, August 29. Traffic will need to use the Eiterman Rd. roundabout to access the U.S. 33 eastbound ramp. 

The U.S. 33 eastbound ramp to Post Rd./SR 161 eastbound will close starting 9 a.m., Monday, August 29. Traffic will need to use the Eiterman Rd. roundabout to access Post Rd./SR 161 eastbound. 

CONTINUING IMPACTS

SR 161 eastbound and westbound at U.S. 33 will be reduced to one lane starting Thursday, August 11 through June 2025. 

All work is weather dependent; it may be postponed or cancelled without prior notice.
