HAMILTON COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

Through the week ending July 30, 2022: The following traffic advisory includes restrictions on the state highway system in Hamilton County. All work will be contingent upon the weather. INTERSTATE 471 CONSTRUCTION

I-471 Bridge Maintenance/Repair - At the U.S. Route 50 interchange. The ramps from I-471 to U.S. 50 East and 3rd Street/U.S. 50 West will be closed Friday, July 22, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday for sign installation.

INTERSTATE 71 CONSTRUCTION

I-71 Bridge Repair - On I-71 North, at the Roberston Avenue overpass between the Smith Road interchange and S.R.562/Norwood Lateral. Single-lane restrictions are in place on Robertson Avenue. I-71 traffic is being maintained in all lanes through the work zone, and the following restrictions will be in effect:

Monday & Tuesday, July 25:

  • Double-lane closures on I-71 North and closure of the entrance ramp from Edwards Road to I-71 North, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday.

 

I-71 Resurfacing & Bridge Repair - From just north of Pfeiffer Road to the Fields Ertel Road interchange. Single-and double-lane closures may be in effect on I-71 North and South, including the following:  

  • Sunday, July 24: Double-lane closure on I-71 North from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, July 25.
  • Monday thru Wednesday, July 25-27: Double-lane closure on I-71 North nightly from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.  
  • Thursday & Friday, July 28 & 29: Double-lane closure on I-71 South nightly from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day.

INTERSTATE 75 CONSTRUCTION

I-75/Mill Creek Expressway Major Rehabilitation  - Major rehabilitation project at the I-74/75 interchange to widen and resurface I-75 between Paddock Road and the Western Hills Viaduct and reconfigure the interchange. Work also includes interchange improvements at Hopple Street, I-74, Mitchell Avenue, Norwood Lateral and Paddock Road. Various lane closures and restrictions will be in effect as needed, including the following:

Friday, July 22:

  • Single-lane closure on I-75 South, between Mitchell Avenue and Hopple Street interchanges, beginning at 8 p.m., followed by a double-lane closure at 10 p.m. and a triple-lane closure at 11 p.m. All restrictions will be lifted by 6 a.m. Saturday.
  • Single-lane closure on I-74 East between Montana Avenue and I-75 North from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday. 
  • Single-lane closure on I-75 North in the work zone from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. Saturday.
  • Closure of the ramp from Hopple Street to I-75 North from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. Traffic will be detoured via I-74 West and the Montana Avenue interchange to I-74 East and I-75 North. 

I-75 Thru the Valley Major Rehabilitation - Between Glendale-Milford Road and the Kemper Road overpass. Various lane and shoulder restrictions will be in effect on the mainline, as well as intermittent restrictions at the ramps at the Sharon Road interchange.

I-75 Bridge (Ramp) Repair - At the ramp from I-75 North to I-275 West, which carries traffic over I-75. Intermittent lane restrictions and ramp closures will be in effect during evening and overnight hours. The project is scheduled to be completed in early fall of 2022. 

I-75 Resurfacing - On I-75 North and South, between the Brent Spence Bridge and Harrison Avenue. Intermittent lane restrictions and ramp closures will be in effect during hours of operation, including the following:

Sunday, July 24:

  • Double-lane closures on I-75 North from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday for bridge repairs at the Bank Street overpass.

Monday & Tuesday, July 25 & 26, 2022

  • Double-lane closures on I-75 South near the Harrison Avenue underpass, from 7 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. the following day.

Wednesday & Thursday, July 27 & 28:

  • Double-lane closures on I-75 South near the Western Hills Viaduct, from 7 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. the following day.
  • Closure of the ramp from the Western Hills Viaduct to I-71 South, from 9 p.m. each night to 5 a.m. the following day.

INTERSTATE 275 CONSTRUCTION

I-275 Pavement Repair/Paving - Between Winton Road and the I-75 interchange. Single and double-lane closures may be in effect nightly, beginning at 8 p.m. and continuing until 6 a.m. the following day. Traffic will be maintained through the work zone.

I-275 Fiber Optic Cable Installation - At various locations between the I-74 and U.S. 27 interchanges; between the U.S. 22/Montgomery Road and S.R. 28 interchanges; and between the S.R. 32 and U.S. 52 interchanges. Traffic will be maintained through the various work zones. The project is scheduled to be complete in early summer 2022.

I-275 Resurfacing & SmartLane Installation - Lane restrictions and traffic shifts will be in effect on I-275 East and West between the Deerfield Road overpass and the Loveland-Madeira Road interchange, as well as additional lane restrictions between U.S. 42 and the Clermont County line.

I-275/Cornell & Weller Road Bridge Repairs - I-275 may be subject to intermittent evening and overnight lane restrictions at the Cornell and Weller Road overpasses, at any time from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Ramp closures at the I-275/I-71 interchange may also be in effect during overnight hours.


 

NEW IMPACTS

Cornell Road (C.R. 256) Bridge Repair - Over I-275. Single-lane closure is in effect on Cornell Road for barrier wall and sidewalk construction. Traffic will be maintained with temporary signals, and the entire project is scheduled to be completed in late summer. 

S.R. 32/125 Resurfacing - On S.R. 32, between the S.R. 125/Beechmont Avenue connector and River Hills Drive in Newtown, as well as on S.R. 125, between the S.R. 32 overlap and Elstun Road. Single-lane restrictions in effect daily from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., as well as from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Traffic will be maintained with flaggers during hours of operation, and all work is scheduled to be completed in October of 2022.

S.R. 264 Pavement Work - Between U.S. 50 and Indian Brave Trail. Single-lane closures will be in effect Saturday, July 23, from approximately 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and traffic will be maintained by flaggers during hours of operation. 

S.R. 264 Culvert Rehabilitation - Between Virginia Court and Glenway Avenue. Single-lane closures will be in effect, and traffic will be maintained by temporary signals and/or flaggers when crews are at work. All work is scheduled to be completed in late summer. 

U.S. 50 (Columbia Parkway) Bridge Rehabilitations - At the structures over Heekin Avenue and over the westbound ramp to Eastern Avenue, between Beechmont Avenue and the Red Bank Road interchanges. Construction is scheduled to begin in mid to late-August.

 

CONTINUING IMPACTS

S.R. 125/Beechmont Bridge Connector/LMSRT - Construction of a new segment of the Little Miami Scenic Trail from the existing trail along S.R. 32, crossing the Little Miami River and connecting with the Lunken Trail, west of the river. Various lane and ramp closures may be in place daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The entire project is scheduled to be completed in late summer.

S.R. 126/RRCC Highway Slide Repair - Along westbound S.R. 126, just east of the Ridge Road/Columbia Avenue interchange. Shoulder and single-lane restrictions will be in effect for slide and culvert repairs. All work is scheduled to be completed by late fall of 2022.

U.S. 42 (Lebanon Road) Intersection Improvement - At the intersection/interchange with I-275 and at Hauck Road. Hauck Road is closed through late July for culvert replacement and railroad crossing improvements. Traffic will be detoured via Reading Road, Kemper Road and U.S. 42. Traffic on U.S. 42 will be maintained through the work zone; however, intermittent restrictions will be in effect during hours of operation.

U.S. 52 (Kellogg Avenue) Slide Repair - Along eastbound U.S. 52/Kellogg Avenue. A single-lane closure is in effect in the eastbound direction, and the entire project is scheduled to be completed in mid-fall of 2022.

Paddison Road (C.R. 376) - Sidewalk installation on Paddison Road (county Route 376) between S.R. 125 and Woodridge Drive. Various lane restrictions will be in effect daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and traffic will be maintained with flaggers as needed.
