MUSKINGUM COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

Week of 7/18/2022

Jacksontown, Ohio (Thursday, July 14, 2022) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Muskingum County. All outlined work is weather permitting.

70

Interstate 70 Reconstruction

Interstate 70 reconstruction in downtown Zanesville - This project will reconstruct I-70 though the city of Zanesville, resurface I-70 between U.S. 40 and State Route 93. Full reconstruction will begin west of the Licking Road overpass, including the Maple Avenue ramps and Maple Avenue at the end of the ramps, and end east of the abandoned railroad overpass. The project also impacts 16 bridges in the area.

  • New impacts:
    • 7th Street is scheduled to re-open to traffic under I-70 on Saturday, July 16.
    • 6th Street is estimated to re-open on Thursday, July 21.

Interstate 70

Interstate 70 resurfacing - This project includes resurfacing with related work on portions of I-70 in Licking and Muskingum Counties from CR 330 (Shelly Rd.) in Licking County to the Licking/Muskingum County line and Licking/Muskingum County line to just east of CR 30 in Muskingum County. Estimated project completion is October 2022.

  • New impacts:  Motorists can expect nightly lane closures for resurfacing.
SR 60

State Route 60

State Route 60 full depth replacement - This project will reconstruct SR 60 between Duncan Falls and the Muskingum/Morgan County line. Estimated project completion is August 2023.

State Route 208

State Route 208 daytime closures for culvert replacements - SR 208 is expected to be closed the following dates and locations between Dresden and Adamsville for culvert replacements. Work hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm. Detour: SR 208 to SR 60 South to SR 93/U.S 22 North/East to SR 93 north to SR 208 and reverse.

  • Schedule: 
    • July 18th thru 29th - Closed between McLaughlin Hill Rd. and North Branch Rd. (Extra Barricade at Rine Rd.)
