Weekly Construction Update

WEEK OF JULY 10, 2022

Chillicothe, Ohio (Thursday, July 7, 2022) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Ross County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting.

S.R. 207 Culvert Replacement - Located on S.R. 207 between Westfall Road and Dodd Road. Principal construction on this project has been completed and the road has reopened as of June 27. Additional work will be completed using temporary lane closures with traffic maintained using flaggers as needed. Estimated completion: Summer 2022

UPDATED* S.R. 41 Slide Repair - The project is located on S.R. 41 between Tong Hollow Road and Whetstone Road. Principal construction on this project has been completed and the road is open to traffic as of July 1. Remaining work will be completed using temporary lane closures with traffic maintained using flaggers as needed. Estimated completion: Summer 2022

S.R. 772 Culvert Replacement - Located on S.R. 772 between Liberty Hill Road and Rinehart Road. Principal construction on this project has been completed and the road has reopened as of June 24. Additional work will be completed using temporary lane closures with traffic maintained using flaggers as needed. Estimated completion: Summer 2022

U.S. 50 Resurfacing - Work has begun on a project to resurface U.S. 50 from the Highland County line to the village of Bainbridge as of May 23. Work will occur daily from 7 AM - 5 PM, Mon - Fri, with one lane of traffic maintained using flaggers. Estimated completion: Summer 2022

U.S. 35 West Bridge Deck Repair - Work has begun on a bridge deck repair project on U.S. 35 Westbound between Main Street and Bridge Street as of April 18. The project will repair and overlay the deck of the bridge that carries U.S. 35 West over U.S. 23 South. Traffic on U.S. 35 West will be maintained in one lane throughout the project. Estimated completion: Summer 2022 

UPDATED* Adena Road Bridge Closure - Adena Road is closed at the bridge over U.S. 35 until further notice due to a damaged beam. The bridge will remain closed until repairs can be completed. Prep work for the repairs to the bridge beam have begun as of July 5. Traffic is being detoured via Pleasant Valley Road, S.R. 104, Orange Street, Piatt Avenue, and Buckeye Street. Estimated completion: Summer 2022

S.R. 772 Landslide Remediation - Work has begun on a project to remediate a landslide along S.R. 772 by benching and laying back of the existing hillside. The project is located between Bishop Hill Road and Rinehart Road. Traffic impacts are expected to be minimal for the first phase of construction, with traffic maintained in one lane using flaggers as needed. A later phase of the project will require a full closure of S.R. 772. Estimated completion: Fall 2022

S.R. 159 Signal upgrade - A project to upgrade numerous traffic signals along Bridge Street (S.R. 159) in the city of Chillicothe that began in the fall of 2021. Principal construction on this project has been completed, with remaining work expected to be performed with minimal traffic impacts. Estimated completion: Summer 2022
