Weekly Construction Update

WEEK OF JULY 10, 2022

Chillicothe, Ohio (Thursday, July 7, 2022) -The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Brown County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting.

NEW* U.S. 52 Slide Repair - Work is set to begin on a slide repair project on U.S. 52 between Logan Gap Road and Three Mile Creek Road starting July 11. One lane of traffic will be maintained during construction using temporary traffic signals. Estimated completion: Fall 2022

NEW* S.R. 131 Culvert Replacements - Work has begun on a project to replace five culverts on S.R. 131 between U.S. 68 and the Highland County line as of July 6. The road will be closed 9 days for this construction. The location of the closure will change as each culvert is completed, but the signed detour will be the same for each location. During the closure traffic will be detoured via U.S. 68, S.R. 286, and S.R. 134. Estimated completion: July 15 by 3:30 PM

S.R. 286 / S.R. 763 / S.R. 774 Resurfacing - Work has begun on a resurfacing project as of May 23 that will perform chip seal operations on the listed routes. The project will chip seal S.R. 286 between the Clermont County Line and the Highland County line, S.R. 763 between S.R. 41 and Bradysville Road, and S.R. 774 between the Clermont County line and Hamersville. Work will occur daily from 6 AM to 4 PM Monday through Thursday, with traffic maintained in one lane throughout construction using flaggers as needed. Estimated completion: Summer 2022

S.R. 763 Culvert Replacement - Work has begun on a culvert replacement at the intersection of S.R. 763 and Martin Hill Road as of May 9. Work will occur daily from 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM, Mon - Fri, with traffic maintained using flaggers as needed. This project will also require a full closure of S.R. 763 starting June 24. During the closure, traffic will be detoured via S.R. 41 to S.R. 136 to S.R. 126. Estimated completion: Fall 2022

U.S. 68 Safety Improvements - A safety improvement project has begun as of April 25 on U.S. 68 between Sterling Run Boulevard and the interchange with S.R. 32. Initial traffic impacts are expected to be minimal, and will include shoulder closures and narrowing and shifting of the existing lanes. As of June 14, the roundabout at the S.R. 32 Eastbound ramp terminals is open to traffic. The S.R. 32 Eastbound off-ramp to U.S. 68 is reduced to one lane. Estimated completion: Summer 2022

U.S. 62 / S.R. 136 Safety Improvements - The project will construct turn lanes at two intersections along S.R. 32. They will be at the intersection of S.R. 32 / S.R. 136 in Adams County and the intersection of S.R. 32 / U.S. 62 in Brown County. Traffic will be maintained with single lane closures. The turn lanes are being constructed on S.R. 136 and U.S. 62 Estimated completion: Summer 2022
