Resurfacing Set To Begin On S.R. 72

Greene County (Wednesday, July 6, 2022) – A project to repair two bridges and resurface state Route 72 in Greene County is set to begin, with restrictions getting under way in mid-July.

Beginning the week of July 11, contractors for the Ohio Department of Transportation will set up temporary traffic signals near the village of Clifton for maintenance of traffic during construction on two structures between Clifton Road and Water Street in the village of Clifton. As part of establishing the work zone next week, crews will be striping, installing signage and barrier wall for traffic control, and the signals will then be activated Monday, July 18.

The entire project calls for concrete patching, bridge railing upgrades and repairs, and asphalt deck overlays on the two bridges over the Little Miami River, as well as pavement repairs and resurfacing S.R. 72 from just north of Turnbull Road at Cedarville to the Clark County line.

Barrett Paving Material, Inc. was awarded a contract for approximately $2.96 million to complete the project, and all work is scheduled to be completed in the summer of 2023.
