STARK COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

WEEK OF JULY 4

AKRON, Ohio (Thursday, June 30, 2022) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Stark County next week. All outlined work is weather permitting.


U.S. 62 & State Route 153 resurfacing in Canton & Louisville
NEW IMPACT – Beginning on Tuesday, July 5, SR 153 between Harmont Ave. and Broadway Ave. will have various lane restrictions. Estimated completion, late October 2022.


State Route 21 culvert replacement, Bethlehem Township
NEW IMPACT – Beginning Monday, July 11, SR 21 between Hensel St. and Goodrich St. will be closed through early August. The detour will be U.S. 250 to SR 93 to U.S. 62.


State Route 43 drainage repairs, Canton Township
NEW IMPACT – Beginning Tuesday, July 5, SR 43 at Amford Rd. will have various lane restrictions. Estimated completion, late September 2022.


State Route 93, Canal Days, Canal Fulton
NEW IMPACTBeginning on Wednesday, July 6 and continuing through Friday, July 10, SR 93 between Milan St. and Locust St. will be closed. The detour will be Locust St. to Market St. to Milan St.


State Route 172 intersection improvements, Perry Township
NEW IMPACT – Beginning on Tuesday, July 5, the Perry Dr. northbound left turn to SR 172 westbound will closed through late July. The detour will be Southway St. to SR 297/Raff Rd.


State Route 183 & 225 resurfacing, Alliance
NEW IMPACT – Beginning on Tuesday, July 5, the following routes will have various lane restrictions for resurfacing:

  • SR 183 from just north of Alliance City limit to the Portage County line.
  • SR 225 from SR 183 to City of Alliance Corp limit.

Estimated completion, late July 2022.
