HAMILTON COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

Through the week ending May 14, 2022: The following traffic advisory includes restrictions on the state highway system in Hamilton County. All work will be contingent upon the weather. INTERSTATE 71 CONSTRUCTION I-71 Bridge Repair - On I-71 North, at the Roberston Avenue overpass between the Smith Road interchange and S.R.562/Norwood Lateral. Traffic will be maintained through the work zone. I-71 Rehabilitation & Resurfacing - Lane restrictions on I-71 North and South, between the Ridge Avenue and S.R. 126/RRCC Highway interchanges. Various intermittent restrictions may be in effect for finishing work.

INTERSTATE 75 CONSTRUCTION I-75/Mill Creek Expressway Major Rehabilitation  - Major rehabilitation project at the I-74/75 interchange to widen and resurface I-75 between Paddock Road and the Western Hills Viaduct and reconfigure the interchange. Work also includes interchange improvements at Hopple Street, I-74, Mitchell Avenue, Norwood Lateral and Paddock Road. Various lane closures and restrictions will be in effect as needed, including the following: Sunday, May 8: Single-lane closure on I-74 East from Montana Avenue to I-75 South between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday, May 9. Closure of the ramp from Beekman Street to I-74 East between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Monday. Monday, May 9: Single-lane closure on I-75 South from north of Mitchell Street to the I-74 interchange between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, followed by  double-lane closures from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Tuesday. Closure of the ramp from Mitchell Street to I-75 South between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Tuesday. Single-lane closure on I-74 East from Montana Avenue to I-75 South between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Tuesday. Closure of the ramp from Beekman Street to I-74 East between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Tuesday.  Single-lane closure on I-75 North from the Western Hills Viaduct to the I-I74 Interchange between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Tuesday, followed by a double-lane closure from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday. Closure of the ramps from east and westbound Hopple Street to I-75 South between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Tuesday; the ramps will not be closed simultaneously. I-75 Thru the Valley Major Rehabilitation - Between Glendale-Milford Road and the Kemper Road overpass. Various lane and shoulder restrictions will be in effect on the mainline, as well as intermittent restrictions at the ramps at the Sharon Road interchange. I-75 Resurfacing - On I-75 North and South, between the Brent Spence Bridge and Harrison Avenue; construction includes deck repairs on bridges within the project zone. Single and double-lane closures will be in effect as weather permits, weekdays from 8 p.m. each night to 6 a.m. the following day. All work is scheduled to be completed in the fall of 2022. I-75 Bridge (Ramp) Repair - At the ramp from I-75 North to I-275 West, which carries traffic over I-75. Intermittent restrictions will be in effect during hours of operation; however, traffic is currently being maintained.

I-275 Fiber Optic Cable Installation - At various locations between the I-74 and U.S. 27 interchanges; between the U.S. 22/Montgomery Road and S.R. 28 interchanges; and between the S.R. 32 and U.S. 52 interchanges. Traffic will be maintained through the various work zones. The project is scheduled to be complete in early summer 2022. I-275 Resurfacing & SmartLane Installation - Lane restrictions and traffic shifts will be in effect on I-275 East and West between the Deerfield Road overpass and the Loveland-Madeira Road interchange. Traffic will be maintained in three, 11-foot lanes through the work zone. I-275/Cornell Road Bridge Repair - Lane restrictions will be in effect on I-275 East and West, at the Cornell Road overpass, during the week of May 9. Monday, May 9: Single-lane closure on I-275 East from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. the following day, with double-lane closures in effect from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday. Tuesday, May 10: Single-lane closures will be in place on I-275 West beginning at 8 p.m., with double-lane closures in effect from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Wednesday. Wednesday, May 11: Single-lane closures will be in place on I-275 West at Cornell Road from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Thursday, and the ramp from Montgomery Road to I-275 West will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.

NEW IMPACTS

E. McMillan Street/I-71 Overpass Bridge Repair - Single-lane restrictions will be in effect on E. McMillan Street, between Symmes Street and the on-ramp to I-71 North, Wednesday, April 6, through Friday, May 13, during daylight hours while crews work to repair the concrete parapet. 

S.R. 126/RRCC Highway Slide Repair - Along westbound S.R. 126, just east of the Ridge Road/Columbia Avenue interchange. Shoulder and single-lane restrictions will be in effect for slide and culvert repairs. All work is scheduled to be completed by late fall of 2022.

U.S. 50/I-471 Bridge Repair - On Tuesday, May 10, the right lane of I-471 north near the U.S. 50/Third Street ramp will be in place for installation of portable concrete barrier in preparation for bridge work at the interchange. The lane will be closed from 10 p.m. until 6 a.m. Wednesday, May 11.

CONTINUING IMPACTS

S.R. 125/Beechmont Bridge Connector/LMSRT - Construction of a new segment of the Little Miami Scenic Trail from the existing trail along S.R. 32, crossing the Little Miami River and connecting with the Lunken Trail, west of the river. Various lane and ramp closures will be in place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily, and all work is scheduled to be completed in August of 2022. 

U.S. 22 (Gilbert Avenue) Bridge Repair -  Over Eggleston Avenue and Culvert Street in Cincinnati. Single-lane closures are in effect between Court and Broadway streets, and the sidewalk along the bridge is closed, and restrictions will also be in place in the parking area beneath the bridge to within five feet of the work area.

U.S. 42 (Lebanon Road) Intersection Improvement - At the intersection/interchange with I-275 and at Hauck Road. Hauck Road is closed for up to 90 days (through July 1) for culvert replacement and railroad crossing improvements. Traffic will be detoured via Reading Road, Kemper Road and U.S. 42.Traffic on U.S. 42 will be maintained through the work zone. 

Paddison Road (C.R. 376) - Sidewalk installation on Paddison Road (county Route 376) between S.R. 125 and Woodridge Drive. Various lane restrictions will be in effect daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. through the end of May, and traffic will be maintained with flaggers.
