MUSKINGUM COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

Jacksontown, Ohio (Thursday, May 5, 2022) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Muskingum County. All outlined work is weather permitting.

State Route 93 |
SR 93 daytime closure for culvert replacement - Beginning Monday, May 9, SR 93 is scheduled to close between Sarbaugh Road and Mercer Road for a culvert replacement. This is a daytime closure only from 8:30am to 3:30pm. Estimated completion is Tuesday, May 10. Detour: SR 208 to SR 60 to SR 16 to SR 83.

Interstate 70 Reconstruction |
Interstate 70 reconstruction in downtown Zanesville - This project will reconstruct I-70 though the city of Zanesville, resurface I-70 between U.S. 40 and State Route 93. Full reconstruction will begin west of the Licking Road overpass, including the Maple Avenue ramps and Maple Avenue at the end of the ramps, and end east of the abandoned railroad overpass. The project also impacts 16 bridges in the area.

New impacts **Schedule update**
- I-70 is scheduled to close nightly between U.S 40 (exit 152) and SR 93 for pavement repairs. This will be an overnight closure only from 11:00pm to 4:00am. During that time, I-70 traffic will be detoured to U.S. 40.
- Closures for tonight and tomorrow, May 5 -6, are cancelled due to weather. I-70 WB overnight closure will take place Sunday night, May 8, and the EB closure will follow on Monday night, May 9, weather permitting.
