FAIRFIELD COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

Week of 4/18/2022

Jacksontown, Ohio (Friday, April 15, 2022) - The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Fairfield County. All outlined work is weather permitting.

37

State Route 37/State Route 256

State Route 37/State Route 256 intersection improvement - This project includes installing left-turn lanes on all approaches to the intersection and reconstructing the existing traffic signal. This project is estimated to be completed in October 2022. 

  • New impacts: Beginning Monday, April 18, work will begin on the SR 37/SR 256 intersection improvement project. At that time, SR 37 northbound and SR 256 eastbound will both close to traffic near the intersection. SR 37 southbound and SR 256 westbound will remain open to traffic. SR 37 NB and SR 256 EB are expected to remain closed through a majority of the project. 
    • The state detour for northbound SR 37 will be SR 37 <-> U.S. 22 (Main St. Lancaster) <-> SR 158 <-> I-70 <-> SR 37. The local detour for northbound SR 37 will be SR 37 <-> Pleasantville Rd <-> Old Millersport Rd / Millersport Rd <-> Canal Rd <-> SR 37. 
    • The state detour for eastbound SR 256 will Be SR-256 <-> SR 158 <-> U.S. 22 (Main St. Lancaster) <-> SR 188 <-> SR 256. The local detour for eastbound SR 256 will Be SR-256 <-> SR 158 <-> Pleasantville Rd <-> Old Millersport Rd <-> SR 256.
