BELMONT COUNTY: Weekly Construction Update

WEEK OF APRIL 18, 2022

New Philadelphia, Ohio (April 14, 2022) -The following construction projects are anticipated to affect highways in Belmont County in the coming weeks. All outlined work is weather permitting. 

I-470_large

I-470 overhead bridge repair project at County Road 214 (High Ridge Road):   During this work, one lane of traffic will be maintained on CR 214 via temporary traffic signals. Various lane restrictions may occur along I-470 throughout the project. The completion date is August 31, 2022.

  • NEW PROJECT IMPACT: Wednesday, April 20, from 7AM-5PM expect lane closures on I-470 westbound for guardrail and overhead sign work.

The following projects are ongoing in Belmont County: 

SR 7

STATE ROUTE 7 PROJECT

State Route 7 bridge rehabilitation project in Shadyside: Bridge work along SR 7 over Central Avenue in Shadyside. One lane of traffic  maintained in each direction with an 11.5-foot width restriction. The completion date is September 30, 2022.

State Route 147 slide repair project: Located just south of Baileys Mills at the SR 147/SR 379 split. During construction, one lane of traffic will be maintained via flaggers. The completion date is June 30, 2022.

State route 800 slide repair project:  Located three miles north of Barnesville. Traffic will be maintained via temporary traffic signals. The completion date is June 30, 2022. 

State Route 148 restriction for slide repair: SR 148 is restricted just east of Armstrong Mills via temporary traffic signals for a slide repair project. Due to recent activity on the hillside, the completion date is unknown at this time.


I70 Forward

I-70 Forward Project

WVDOH I-70 bridge replacement project: Located along I-70 between Marion St. and the Ohio/West Virginia state line. East and westbound traffic is restricted to one, 12-foot lane via crossovers.
