
REMINDER: ODOT HIRING FULL-TIME CDL DRIVERS AND MECHANICS
Job fair October 21, 2 - 7:30 p.m.
Bowling Green (October 20, 2021) - The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) excels at maintaining Ohio's roadways year-round for Ohioans and travelers alike. In the warmer months, ODOT employees perform pothole patching, drainage work, vegetation management, and more. In the snowy months, they clear highways using plows, salt, and liquid de-icers, and perform maintenance activities when there is no winter weather.
"ODOT employees take pride in how well we maintain Ohio highways," said Pat McColley, District 2 Deputy Director. "We need to fill 14 full-time highway technician positions and automotive mechanic positions, so we can keep Ohio's highways in the quality conditions Ohioans and visitors have come to expect."

District 2 is hosting a job fair on Thursday, October 21 from 2-7:30 p.m. at the district headquarters - 317 E. Poe Rd. Bowling Green, Ohio. Dress for the job because this job fair is a one-stop shop:
- Driver license check
- Must have CDL class B or A with tanker endorsement

Typically this time of year, ODOT hosts job fairs for seasonal employees who help primarily with snow and ice control. While, seasonal employees are still welcome to apply and attend the job fair, the main purpose of the job fair is to fill the 14 full-time positions.
Highway technician applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent; a valid class A or B commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a tanker endorsement, without air brake restriction; and three months of training or experience in basic equipment operation.
Automotive mechanic applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and 2 years experience in automotive repair and maintenance of a variety of vehicles or equipment.
