SENECA COUNTY: Highway Construction Update


US 23_large

U.S. Route 23, between Wyandot Co. and Fostoria, will experiencelane restrictions for resurfacing and guardrail. Estimated completion: October.


US 224_large

U.S. Route 224 at State Route 53, Tiffin, is closed through Monday, October 4. Sidewalk restrictions are possible. US 224 detour: SR 4 to SR 162 to SR 18. SR 53 detour: SR 18 to US 224 to SR 587. SR 53 is closed at County Road 52, south of the closure location.


SR 19

State Route 19, between SR 101 and SR 228, Republic, is open following a culvert replacement. Lane restrictions are possible for finish work.


SR 53

State Route 53, between Highland Park Estates and Cottage Dr., Tiffin, will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing nightly overnight. Estimated completion: October.


SR 100

*Closure starts Tuesday*

State Route 100/State Route 231, between Madison St. and Perry St., Tiffin, will be closed for a project administered by the City of Tiffin beginning Tuesday, October 5 through October. Contact the City for more information. Detour: US 224 to SR 53 to SR 18.


SR 100

State Route 100, between County Road 58 and Riverside Dr., Tiffin, will experience lane restrictions for resurfacing. Estimated completion: November.


SR 101

*Now closed*

State Route 101, between SR 778 and SR 19, Republic, will be closed for two culvert replacements beginning Thursday, September 30. Estimated completion: early November. Detour: SR 778 to SR 19 to SR 101. 


Various routes district-wide will experience lane restrictions for routine guardrail, lighting, and pavement markings and maintenance throughout the year.
